Prawn Paratha with Cucumber Raitha

Prawn paratha is a recipe inspired from my mom's frequent weekend menu Egg paratha with a yogurt dip.I had my memories rolling behind while making this with a twist as prawn paratha and it tasted yum...!proud of my mom

  • 5-1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/3 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 5 egg
  • 30 medium prawns or shrimp
  • 1/4 grated carrot
  • 3 tablespoons onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 3 teaspoons cilantro, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 cucumber, diced
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • pinch salt

For The Dough:

1.Combine first three ingredients and make it into soft pliable dough. 2.Divide it into 4 equal sized balls. 3.Coat the balls all over with 11/2 tbsp of oil .Cover and rest it for at least 1 hour.

Stuffing batter

1.Beat the eggs well. 2.Blend prawns in a mixer for few seconds. 3.Combine beaten eggs,blend prawns,grated carrot,salt,chili powder,turmeric,finely chopped onions and chopped cilantro. 4.Batter is ready to stuff

How to make prawn Paratha

1.After an hour of resting the dough, drizzle little oil on a clean rolling surface. 2.Roll the ball into a evenly thin rectangular sheet.(do not roll the pin to and fro) 3.Now heat the griddle ,and place the rectangular sheet and spread the prepared prawn batter at the center . 4.Carefully fold the sides one over the other covering the stuffing completely . 5.Cook on medium on both sides until cooked well. 6.Repeat the same steps for every ball. 7.Cut the cooked parathas into rectangular strips.

Cucumber raitha

1.Combine diced cucumber with yogurt and pinch of salt and mix well.

Serving

2.Serve the prawn paratha with cucumber Dip
